ICE Can’t ‘Locate’ Records of 378,000 Detainees
Fentanyl, a powerful painkiller approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for a range of conditions, has been central to the American opioid crisis. A letter from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to the Transactional Records Control Board (TRAC) shows that 377,980 individuals are being monitored under its Alternatives to Detention (ATD) program. The ATD program allows for closer monitoring of non-detained noncitizens at varying levels of supervision.
